Hosting (server log data)
This site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) via Cloudflare Pages. When you visit the site, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data (including IP address and time of access) to deliver and protect the website (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; standard contractual clauses are in place. More information: Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Waitlist (email sign-up)
If you join the waitlist, we process your email address to keep you informed about MatchReel: a welcome message, the invitation to the beta phase and the launch notification (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, consent). Sign-up uses double opt-in: you are only added after confirming the link in the confirmation email.
We use MailerLite (UAB “MailerLite”, J. Basanavičiaus g. 15, LT-03108 Vilnius, Lithuania, an EU provider) to manage the waitlist and send emails. Your email address is stored there. More information: MailerLite Privacy Policy.
You can withdraw your consent at any time (unsubscribe link in every email, or informally by emailing us). After the launch notification, or upon your withdrawal, your address is deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
Privacy in the app
The principle: the MatchReel app processes all match data, settings, statistics and highlights exclusively on your iPhone (and Apple Watch). There is no account, no servers of our own, no tracking and no analytics services. In detail:
App: Photos
With your permission, the app accesses your photo library to pick match recordings and to save finished clips and reels. Recordings stay in your library; the app only keeps a reference. You can revoke the permission at any time in the iOS settings.
App: Health (Apple HealthKit)
The Watch app records your football workout in Apple Health; with your permission, the iPhone app reads distance, heart rate, calories and the recorded GPS route to show them in the match statistics (e.g. top speed). Health data never leaves your devices, is not included in our iCloud backup, is never used for advertising and is not shared with third parties. You can revoke the permission at any time in the iOS settings.
App: Location (GPS route on Apple Watch)
With your location permission on the Watch, the Watch app records a GPS route of your runs during the workout. The route is stored exclusively as part of the workout in Apple Health on your devices (see Health) and enables more accurate statistics such as top speed; it is not transmitted to us or to third parties. Without the location permission, recording simply continues without a route. You can revoke the permission at any time in the Watch settings.
App: Weather (Apple WeatherKit)
For the weather shown on the intro card, the app sends the match location's coordinates to Apple Weather (WeatherKit, Apple Inc., One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA) to fetch the weather for the kick-off time (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR). Without a stored match location, no request is made. More information: Apple Privacy Policy.
App: iCloud backup
Match data and settings (no videos, no health data) are backed up to your private iCloud container so they survive a device switch, provided iCloud is enabled on your device. This data lives in your personal Apple account and is not accessible to us.
App: Sharing matches
When you share a match, the app creates a .matchreel file containing match data (teams, goals, scorers, result, no health data) and, if you choose, the finished video clips. You send it yourself via a channel of your choice (e.g. WhatsApp or AirDrop); the privacy policy of that service applies to the transfer.
App: Feedback
The feedback button in the settings opens an email to [email protected]. The prepared diagnostics block (app version, iOS version, device model, language) is visible in the email and may be deleted before sending. Only what you send yourself is transmitted (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR). We use the email exclusively to answer your request.
App: Purchases (MatchReel Pro)
The “MatchReel Pro” subscription (in-app purchase) is handled entirely by Apple via the App Store (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR). We never receive any payment or account details; subscription management happens through your Apple account. More information: Apple Privacy Policy.
